Archaeology Museum Preliminary Renovation Project in Antalya

After the speech of Mrs. H.R. Clinton at Antalya Aspendos Theatre in 18 November 1999, this preparatory work requested by İstemihan Talay, the Minister of Culture, was presented to the Ministery of Culture in the first half of 2000. However, since that day it was lost in the depths of bureaucracy without expressing any gratitude. The present museum built by the Ministery of Public Works after a competition, has become unidentifiable due to the additional structures built in the following years and has been rejected by the project owners. Today’s museum has to be re-planned according to modern standards.

The presented project covers an area of 32,000 m² overall, while the exhibition area is underground. It has been made as an attempt with outlets, coffee bar, library and a conference hall with a capacity of 600 people.
